What You Can Do in Atlanta

There are a number of things you can do to help celebrate by raising awareness, promoting, and educating on Universal Human Rights.

Here is just a beginning list of ideas for you to consider:

• Learn about human rights
• Review the 30 Clauses of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
• Learn about the history, vision and work of the UDHR declaration
• Organize and Event at your:
  • School, University, or Community Center
  • Church, Synagogue, Mosque, Temple, or house of worship or meditation
  • Firm, Organizations, or Group
• Get your child or teenager to present Youth for Human Rights International at their school.
• Think out of the box ... get creative.
• Promote and educate on human rights in your own specific way.
• Make a video about human rights. Post it on YouTube, MySpace, or Facebook (among others)
• Invite a speaker to your group to lead a discussion on Human Rights
• Write a letter to the editor about Human Rights
• Lobby for ratification of optional human rights protocols not yet ratified/adopted by the US. (Children (CRC), Women (CEDAW), etc.)
• Send ten friends via email your thoughts on the importance of UDHR in it's 60th year.
• Host a Human Right dinner or potluck where you hand out copies of the UDHR and discuss
• Play a Human Rights Game our send your kids a link ... or play it with them.
• Take a Human Rights Test of rights in the work place -- test yourself.
